We welcomed Majdood Habib as our new Refugee Support Coordinator at the beginning of May, and he says, “I am passionate about community empowerment, social inclusion, and helping people build independent and successful futures.”

Multilingual Majdood was previously a volunteer supporting our Pathways to Independence programme, and has 10 years’ experience in engineering, community engagement, humanitarian support and community development across Afghanistan and in the UK. He started out in a career in civil engineering, which evolved into supporting the implementation of infrastructure and development projects while also assisting vulnerable individuals and families during the COVID-19 pandemic through humanitarian and community support activities.

After relocating to the UK, Majdood continued his passion for supporting vulnerable communities through volunteering and his role as a Student Enrolment Officer with Prevista Ltd, where he worked closely with Job Centres, charities, and community organisations to help individuals access education, training, and employability opportunities while supporting their integration into the community. Alongside this, he volunteered with Sanctuary in Chichester, supporting refugees and asylum seekers through employability guidance, CV preparation, education pathways, and community integration support.
