Cobnor Activities Day

A group of young men from the hotel and housed in the community participated in a full day of activities at Cobnor Activities Centre, funded by the Fat Face Foundation’s Young Helms programme.

The day began with a short introduction to the local area and its history, followed by an archery session. One participant even managed an ‘impossible shot’, earning applause from the group. This was followed by a team building session, building bridges with logs, and an apparently very competitive volleyball game, before heading indoors for a hot lunch.

In the afternoon, the group sailed two keelboats into the Solent before returning for a final volleyball round.

Gurjit, who arranged the outing, received positive feedback from participants, with one beneficiary describing it as, “an amazing day. Incredibly helpful for our community, mental health, and wellbeing”.

Staff at the Centre were delighted that they were so enthusiastic, appreciative and polite, and are keen to work with us again, so we’re aiming to tailor a similar event to cater to the needs of a group of young women.

Thank you to Cobnor Activities Centre, the Fat Face Foundation, and Gurjit for making the trip possible.
