Sanctuary in Chichester visited Pallant House Gallery to learn how the gallery can support refugees and asylum seekers. Our staff and volunteer befrienders and tutors were hosted by gallery representatives Emily Robson and Cynara Davies, who introduced them to several initiatives, such as the Access Pass, which offers free tickets to exhibitions and workshops designed specifically for families.
During the visit, Holly, a team member at Pallant House Gallery, demonstrated arts and crafts activities that can engage families, showing our volunteers practical ways to integrate these resources into their support for beneficiaries. The session was well-received, with volunteers appreciating both the informative presentation and the warm reception.
Pallant House Gallery is committed to making art accessible to refugees and asylum seekers by providing free tickets to exhibitions and details about complimentary family workshops. Beneficiaries and their befrienders are encouraged to take full advantage of these opportunities. The gallery also supports beneficiaries in volunteering roles, allowing them to experience modern British art and benefit from working with other volunteers and visitors.
Thanks again to Emily, Cynara, Holly and the entire Pallant House Gallery team for their dedication to making art accessible and for fostering a welcoming environment for all members of our community.
