Emsworth Slipper Sailing Club have organised an auction of promises in aid of Sanctuary in Chichester, on Tuesday 12th November from 6pm.
Lorriane Bell, who had the idea for the auction and arranged the event, explained:
This is a fundraising event where we offer services or gifts which we then auction on the night. The highest bidder wins the ‘promise’, and the funds raised then go to Sanctuary in Chichester, whose support is needed now more than ever.

There are two ways of participating and contributing; firstly, offering something which can be auctioned, such as a lesson or experience in something, dog walking or sitting, or help at someone’s home such as DIY, gardening or lawn mowing, maybe even use of a holiday home. Secondly, by helping to promote the auction, then coming along and bidding! Please bring friends and family.
We will have the pleasure of John Gleadall (pictured above) playing guitar at the event. John works as part of the Gleadall and Mosse partnership and has featured on many London stages as well as at the Chichester Festival Theatre and other venues. He is currently musical director for The OK Chorale community choir and performs with The DiElle Trio who gig in the UK and across Europe.
The auction will be held in the Slipper Sailing Club, Quay Mill, South St, Emsworth PO10 7EQ. Parking is free in the nearby public car park on South Street from 6pm.
