February’s weekly drop-in sessions at Sanctuary in Chichester brought together a mix of activities, workshops and support initiatives for beneficiaries and their families.

Celebrating Shrove Tuesday: On 12th February, our volunteers, including Helen and her daughter Amira, whipped up a batch of delicious pancakes, served with the traditional Pancake Day topping of lemon and sugar or the option of chocolate spread, which delighted adults and children alike.

Craft Corner: Children crafted beautiful lanterns to mark Chinese New Year and worked on Valentine-themed art projects. A standout creation was a child’s vibrant series of paintings (pictured), depicting a Ukrainian Ferrari driver’s triumphant race.

Pallant House Gallery Workshop: On Valentine’s Day, 14th February, an art workshop offered Sanctuary families a creative outlet and a moment of communal joy, free of charge.

Theatrical Experience: We are encouraging our community to attend ‘The Boy at the Back of the Class’ at Chichester Festival Theatre (showing from 27th February to 1st March). This performance, resonating with themes of friendship and kindness towards refugees, is based on the book by the same name, and promises to be a moving experience for audience members of all ages.

February’s drop-ins continued to provide a supportive, engaging, and enriching environment for those we serve.
