Chichester Cathedral Refugee Week vigil: Monday 18 June
Sanctuary in Chichester and Friends Without Borders will again hold a day-long vigil to mark Refugee Week. All are welcome to join us from 7.30am – 5.30pm in the Lady Chapel for silent prayer for as long – or as little – a time as you wish.
Arundel concert: Saturday 14 July 2018, 7.30pm
Sarah Plumley and friends will play a range of period keyboard instruments from the Plumley Collection, including the house organ by Van Vulpen, an early piano and a harpsichord.
Proceeds from the concert, at Sarah and Nick Plumley’s characterful late Georgian home (47 Maltravers Street, Arundel, BN18 9BU), will go to Sanctuary in Chichester.
The concert will be in two parts and in two different rooms of the house. The evening will include interval wine and canapés and there will be a short explanation of the work of Sanctuary in Chichester in supporting and helping refugees by the Chairman, Roger Pask.
Bosham concert: Sunday 7 October 6pm
Soprano Rebecca Grove and mezzo-soprano Stephanie Peat will sing to the accompaniment of harpist Frances Kelly, at Holy Trinity Church. Money raised will go towards Sanctuary in Chichester.
Chichester barn dance: Saturday 13 October 7.30pm
On Saturday 13th October, Sanctuary in Chichester is putting on a barn dance! The event will be a great opportunity for our community to come together and enjoy an evening of music and dancing – all in aid of refugees and asylum seekers.
Portsmouth folk band Squinty McGinty’s will be playing, with caller and valued Sanctuary volunteer Helen Floyd leading the dances. The evening will kick off at 7.30pm and dancing will continue until late.
We’ll also be holding a raffle with prizes kindly donated by Fontwell Park Racecourse, Chichester Festival Theatre, CRED Jewellery and Montezuma’s among other local businesses and organisations.
It’s set to be a brilliant night – we very much hope to see you there!
