Summer Party

Thank you to everyone who came to our summer party in July, and thank you to Bishop of Chichester, Martin Warner, for hosting us in his beautiful garden at the Chichester Cathedral Bishop’s Palace Gardens. We wanted the party itself to be a massive thank you to our truly awesome volunteers and staff, as well to celebrate together all the terrific work that’s been undertaken over the past year. Our Chair Tony Toynton provided a fantastic and inspiring speech, and Bishop Warner also gave a wonderful speech welcoming all the new refugees and asylum seekers into the area. We enjoyed tea and lots of cake together, while children enjoyed storytelling by Children’s BookFest Outreach Coordinator Jen Rogers – She delighted the children by involving them in the story of Angelica Sprocket’s Pockets by Quentin Blake and each child took home a copy of their own. Article12Arts provided their lovely brightly coloured gazebo for the storytelling.

A huge debt of gratitude is owed to our volunteers, trustees and donors, and we are deeply thankful for every single person who offers their support to helping refugees in our area. Here’s to another great year of providing Sanctuary in Chichester.

Lots of cake!
