Speakers include refugee journalists from Ukraine and Afghanistan, now living in Chichester, and representatives from Children on the Edge and Sanctuary in Chichester.
We’ll be exploring what it takes to create an environment of healing for both arrivals in our district and for refugee children on the border areas of Ukraine, Syria, Myanmar and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
We’ll be celebrating community, mutual care, and the human ability to heal and start again.
Light refreshments will be available.
Whoever. Wherever. Whenever. Everyone has the right to seek safety.
SANCTUARY IN CHICHESTER
Sanctuary in Chichester supports refugees and asylum seekers locally. People are arriving in our area in great need, having lost everything and experienced extreme trauma. We’re committed to welcoming them and helping them to survive before supporting them build new lives and heal.
CHILDREN ON THE EDGE
Children on the Edge have always gone where the need is greatest and, for over 30 years have been committed to reacting nimbly and flexibly, to reach those people who are overlooked by larger organisations and the international media. This is what started our journey in Romania and Moldova at the very beginning in 1990, and is where the need is taking us today in support of Ukrainian refugees.
Free entry – donations on the night gratefully accepted.
